2022 Spring Hairstyle Trends

Updated: Jan 5, 2023

Winter mode is disabled. Warm weather mode is officially here. With hot summer nights and leisurely beach days, managing your mane takes strategy. We've gathered the best spring style ideas for you that are easy to achieve.

We can honestly say we've never been more excited for spring and summer to arrive. And, as our days grow longer, lighter, and warmer, we're thinking about all of the new outfits we can wear and, more importantly, all of the new hairstyles we can try! Prepare to be inspired by Sierra and Sage’s selection of the hottest spring hairstyles.

Quick Styles:

This is one of the most basic hairstyles on our list, but it doesn't take away from how much we love it. If anything, the fact that it only takes seconds to create is almost as appealing as how beautiful it looks when it's finished!

1. Half up with a claw clip.

Simply section off the top half of your hair to achieve this look. You can choose any amount of hair you want, but a good starting point is right above your ears to the round at the back of the head. After that, simply pull all of your hair to the back of your head and fasten it with a claw clip.

2. Half up knot

This one looks complicated but it’s not at all. Just simply loop your hair into a knot and bobby pin it in place. Looks like you spent a lot of time and effort, but in reality, it only takes seconds.

3. Style with Scrunchies

There are some many crazy cute scrunchies available right now, but the best part is how adaptable this simple accessory can be! The possibilities for styling a scrunchie is endless…It can be dressed up or down, perfectly messy or elegant, high or low. But we personally love a half pony that highlights your beautiful locks while framing your face. This scrunchie hairstyle can be worn with any hair length and type, including straight, curly, and wavy hair. Depending on how you dress it, you can wear this look for a variety of occasions.

4. Bubble Braids

What's great about bubble braids is that there is no limit to what you can do with them. You can make them sleek or textured and place them high or low on your head, or really mix it up with pigtails.

Decide whether you want a high, medium, or low-set bubble braid, and secure your hair with an elastic wherever you want the style to begin. Continue using elastics spaced evenly down the ponytail until you reach the end. Using your fingertips, gently spread each section apart to create a round bubble. You should leave about two inches between each elastic if you have long hair, and if you have short hair, place them closer together. It's really up to you, and you can adjust the spacing until you find the perfect look.. If you want a more elevated look, hide the elastics by wrapping them with a few strands of hair and secure them with a bobby pin.

5. Boho Braids

Boho-chic braids frame the face and you’ll spot them everywhere as the temperatures warm up. In just a few minutes, they can be created and look just as stunning with the more casual clothes we tend to wear during spring and summer. You can mix and match different braid styles with different hair accessories like scarves and scrunchies to style it up a bit.

To create this simple fishtail braid, take a half up section of hair, split the hair into two large sections. You’ll start by taking a small section on the outside of each section and passing it to the inside of the opposite section. Continue doing this until you reach the end of your section of hair and secure it with an elastic. For an added boho feel, slightly pull apart the sections to fluff them up a bit.

6. Combination of braided styles

For the ultimate boho look for Spring, we recommend combining styles. Like this photo where we combined a half up bubble pony with a simple fishtail braid.

First you’ll take a half up section of hair and create the bubble pony following the same steps above. Once you have the perfect bubble pony, you can grab a small section of hair (we think this looks best on the side- but feel free to get creative with placement) you can do a traditional braid of a fishtail braid- once again secure with an elastic and pull the braided sections apart slightly to create that perfectly messy feel.
